Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has landed himself in hot water with his cabinet colleagues – for taking part in a tuition fees protest. The Lib-Dem leader was caught on camera taking part in the 25,000 strong demo against his government’s own policy by a BBC news film crew yesterday. At one point during the protest Mr Clegg is seen taking off his shirt before daubing himself in red paint and throwing a brick through the window of the HSBC branch in Kilburn Road. Yesterday, the shamefaced DPM attempted to explain his position, saying; “I was feeling stressed out after a long day in Westminster and decided to go for a pint in my local pub. Once there I got chatting to a group of young people, which was nice as its quite lonely being a high ranking government figure sometimes. We were all having a laugh and the drinks were flowing free and after the seventh snakebite and black things all become a bit hazy.â€
