Controversy raged today in Radiohead superfan circles, at the news that the famously ‘serious’ band’s song ‘Fake Plastic Trees’ (controversially liked by Morrisey on Desert Island Discs in 2006), actually derives from a little known Christmas tune recorded by well known fart joke ‘comedian’ Ray ‘Fatso’ Black. The ditty, named ‘Fake Plastic Turds’ is an amusing anthem to the joys of the giving of novelty presents at Yuletide. It pokes unashamed fun at the inevitable mirth to be gained from gifting geriatric Granny a plastic poo.
A friend of the Band’s inner circle strenuously denied the claims. Ray ‘Fatso’ Black couldn’t be reached as he’s currently touring the Outer Hebrides, but his agent was seen to be rubbing his hands in glee and muttering ‘we can now cancel the Blackpool Xmas tour’ on being relayed the news late yesterday.
