Following what is described as the UK’s biggest mobilisation of military and security forces since the World War II, reports are coming in that thousands of civilians have fled their homes and making their way across the northern border of the M25.With many hoping to escape “The Games”, as the current difficulties have come to be known, staying with distant relatives in places such as Yorkshire and Wales. The Red Cross, with sponsorship from McDonalds and Costa, have set up a Refugee Center located near Watford on the M1 Motorway. For many of the arrivals it will be the first time they have left their traditional homelands. Teams of translators are on standby, whilst tons of pie and mash are to be airlifted in.The lockdown of the city has put a number of Civil Liberty groups on alert. With massive welfare, housing benefit and legal aid cuts, spiralling unemployment and rising social protests many leftwing do-gooders point out that the ruling elite’s draconian security measures dramatically reduce longstanding legal, political and ethical issues surrounding civil liberties.A number of people in from Up North are deeply sympathetic towards their Southern Cousins, “Its bad enough they have to live in London, now with this Orwellian security nightmare to contend with on top of the unending saturation of sport, commercialisation and sanctimonious bullshit that this will benefit anyone other than a load of rich people who want a new badminton court close to their luxury apartments….well, it beggars belief!”
